NN Investment Partners strengthens Alternative Credit Team

NN IP has appointed Eric Verret to its Alternative Credit team as Head of Corporate Loans. He is responsible for corporate loan asset strategies, as well as executing a comprehensive loan origination proposition. Recently, NN IP is deliberately strengthening its Alternative Credit expertise and team reflecting the growing importance of the asset class for asset management clients.
Eric Verret (CFA) holds an MBA from INSEAD and a law degree from Laval University in Canada and has extensive experience in international debt capital markets and corporate banking, having spent 13 years at GE Capital in a number of senior roles. Most recently, Eric was business leader for a division of GE Capital in London, where he headed a team to originate and structure loans to finance European loan portfolio acquisitions by financial sponsors. Prior to this, he held further positions at GE Capital, e.g. as Managing Director, Business Development and Capital Markets, for a loan fund created between GE Capital and Mubadala Development Corporation in Abu Dhabi to invest in asset-based and leveraged finance loans globally. Before he joined GE Capital, Eric practiced five years as a capital markets and securities lawyer for Clifford Chance in London and at various law firms in Canada.

Two new members join the Alternative Credit Investment Committee.
NN IP has also appointed two new independent external members to its Alternative Credit Investment Committee, Dr Uwe Seedorf and Hein Brand. Their role is to contribute to NN IP’s credit risk decision-making process, joining the existing investment committee members Han Rijken, Patrick den Besten and Gabriella Kindert (chair).
Uwe Seedorf has been Chief Credit Risk Officer at GE Capital, and has also held a number of senior roles within GE Capital since joining in 2001. Prior to that, Uwe worked at Dresdner Bank, specialising in structured and project finance. Uwe holds an MBA and PhD in Finance and Accounting and has been an executive leader in regulated financial entities for 28 years in EMEA / Emerging Markets and Americas. Uwe has also held positions on supervisory boards of three European banks. He brings experience in credit and operational risk management, sales, syndication, work-outs and collections.
Hein Brand, the second new member to NN IP’s Alternative Credit Investment Committee, has over 30 years of credit risk experience at senior levels, in both commercial and risk functions, gained mostly at ING and Shell. From 2009 to 2016, Hein was CEO at ING Real Estate, joining in 2001 as a member of the executive team for commercial banking at ING. Prior to that, he led Credit Risk Management at ING, where his team was also responsible for credit restructuring. From numerous senior positions held at large Dutch corporations, with a strong focus on real estate, Hein has built up considerable global commercial real estate knowledge on both development as well as investment management. Hein also holds board member positions on various supervisory and advisory boards.
